About the Portfolio

Sumo - Sport of the Gods is a unique portfolio of stock photography depicting the rituals and pageantry of Sumo, Japan's national sport.
This collection is probably unique in the West, as it is almost impossible to photograph Sumo professionally without three very important ingredients: press credentials, lots of time and a fair command of conversational Japanese. The author was fortunate enough to have the three during the five years he was based in Tokyo.
