The banzuke is a poster listing the rankings for the forthcoming tournament; it uses highly stylized kanji (chinese characters). The banzuke is printed on thick rice parchment and widely distributed. It actually makes a very nice gift and looks terrific when framed on a wall. Collections of ancient banzuke can cost small fortunes. This version is the main banzuke, found on the Yagura, a tower built of bamboo located at the entrance of the Kokugikan.
Banzuke
